Welcome to Smart Future! This is an easy way to get information on careers that are fun, can earn you lots of money and allow you to travel the world. There are so many different jobs out there in science and technology these days, and this website will help find the right one for you!

As you go through the careers featured here on Smart Future, it won’t take long to realise that science and technology doesn’t have to be boring – it can be as challenging and varied as you want it to be.

There’s so much exciting work going on in Queensland laboratories and out in the field.

We have researchers whose job allows them to swim in the Great Barrier Reef, where they collect the venom of coneshells which they use to develop a pain-relief drug.

We also have scientists who are developing a new ‘super’ building material that’s stronger than concrete or steel, but just a fraction of the weight.

If the bright lights of Hollywood are more your style, Queensland is home to many talented animators who are responsible for visual effects seen the world over in movies such as Scooby Doo.

Or you might like playing computer games, and think that you would be good at a career as a games developer.

Browse through the website to read about people who are working in all sorts of interesting jobs. You can find out what study you’ll need to do for a particular career, and how to get in touch with people already in the industry for more information.
