Hi,
if we’ve not already met, my name is Helix. Most people know me as Double
Helix, the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid or DNA, as you might know it.
I was discovered on 28 February 1953, when my scientist mates Jim Watson and
Francis Crick, cracked my code (DNA).
I
store the coded information that pretty much makes you who you are - what you
look like and how your body functions and grows. Yep, and I’m the one who
carries those family traits down through generations. “Thanks a lot” I hear
some of you say.
Some people refer to me as “the molecule of life”, and who am I to argue with
that. I’ve even got my own screensaver – why don’t you
download it and we can hang out together.
You know, a career in science and technology can be a lot of fun – it can mean
travel and a chance to make a real difference to other people’s lives – you
could make a discovery that changes the way the world looks at things, you
might even find another cool guy like me!
This Smart Future website can help you find a great career to match your
interests. Go on….what are you waiting for?
It's been a pleasure chatting …see you around!
